Lets see......... with about 500 miles on the car I had new wheel bearings put in cause VW didn't tighten them from the factory. i've had my window switches and switch holders replaced cause they were chipping and bent. And just had the entire AC system replaced Sat at 6500 miles. The steering makes a horrible noise at times and the windows have minds of their own sometimes. Anyone eles have probs?

at least everything is still under warranty... you might want to rethink getting chipped if all this shit is going wrong :dunceblock:

only problem with mine is the clatter of about every piece of plastic on the car. the top vent, the rear seatbelt, the driver door at the alarm blinker, and the fuel line tapping against the fire wall. All should be taken care of today at the dealership. nothing but stupid rattles here.

wow intresting problems, I have had blown clutch, window switchs break and windows do have mind of there own when I use the key in the door to roll them up or down , airbags lights. but other problems are from what I have done, pop at full look when back up only does it once everyday out of my driveway, clutch chatter, cel for catless exhaust, limp mode once, cracked windsheild, wheel bearing and speed sensor.

The only problem/complaint I have with my MkV is that sometimes the radio will automatically lower its self by a couple of volumes. It does this for no reason at all..........and I've notice the speeds have nothing to do with it as far as accelerating or decelerating goes becuase it will do it at constant speeds.

Mine did too. where is your bass and mid set? The radio has distortion protection and speaker protection. VW set my setting where it is recommended and it stoped. Then I changed their settings slightly and it's still fine

I didn't know there were so many MKV "enthusiasts" out there. It's nice to see that VW has kept up their quality reputation;)

This is the same thing that happens every time they change generations. It's always gonna happen the first couple years until they come out with updated parts. Never buy the first year of a new generation car.

there is a fix on this. the dealer can do a stereo "reflash". Someone called it soft clipping in another form. If you have not done so a pretty good group of MKVers. golfmkv.com.
Also, the dealer did nothing to the car with my rattle trap. they claimed they could not hear any issue. So now i have to go in and take the service manager for a ride!

My speedometer is reading about 5% fast - it says 65mph and I'm going 60 mph.
Is there a TSB or a fix on that?

the colder weather is nice my turbo loves it but with stage 2 i am spiking 22-23psi with 70 degree weather and sent me in to limp mode thought I blew something up. I am going to put 100oct in today for my dyno on wensday so the ecu has time to learn and I can adjust the timming on the revo.

Hmm, where to start. My driver window auto up/down feature stops at times, airbag light came on the other day but reset, constant rattle from right rear seat area. They replaced the seatbelt, rattled as I got home. Center top vent on dash rattles on certain roads, there is a TSB for that. Had the radio "reflashed" for soft clipping. Now the bass will sometimes kick in at levels way higher than you can get it to do. Driver seat fabric starting wearing on the bolster 2 months after I got it.
Now, I haven't bashed VW anywhere at all. Gave the dealer perfect surveys as I'm a service advisor for Jeep, know how the game works. I'm a little upset that I thought VW had worked this sh(T out since the car has been overseas for 2 years or so already. If it weren't for the driving experience it offers, I'd probably already be looking for another car. Yea, it's under warranty, but it truly is a PITA to constantly go nag another service advisor about squeaks and rattles. I'm sure they've already labeled me there, but hey, I bought a brand new VW and spent more money than I really had to. Hopefully they'll fix all these stupid issues so I can roll on.
