And if you're ever down in Charlotte, do the same.
I may not put out the same volume of wake as yours, but The Wedge and 800 lbs of fat sacs get me 80% there

We usually rock about 3500-4k in ballast. Haha, I will be there for the CWS event next weekend most likely. You should come out it should be a good time.

Geebus!! I'd probably sink my boat with that much ballast. Even if I'm surfing, I've only got about 1500 lbs ballast...not including the Wedge. Hmm, so about 2700 total

Yea its usually about 800 center, 1400 bow, 1200 rear, then whatever people/weights to even the wake out. I hate the wedge. Its good when you only have a thousand pounds or so of ballast but anything else and it washes out the wake. That weight at 85' at 25.6mph is perfect for the vlx in my opinion.

Its really fun. Just sack out the toe side and it will make you not wanna surf waves anymore. Constant form and get the fins out every slash. It actually really helps your surfing. We have gotten it about waist high on me and im 6'3".
If I still have it we can have an ncdubs boat day. Or wait until the spring and hopefully the 09 will be here by then...

Yeah, that's the advantage of having the built-in tanks. I couldn't get that much weight in my boat, even if I had the room. For sure, the Wedge isn't preferred but I don't have the 100" beam that you do. Not do I have a V-drive for that matter :(. I do notice when I put 7-8 people in the boat, the wake forms up nicely without having to use the Wedge.
You're riding WAY further out and faster than me. I'm riding about 75 ft. Further out the wake starts to get foam and washes over. And anything over 22 on my boat and the wake starts to flatten back out.

It is very cool and low key. We usually finish the day with a surfing session. It's pretty sweet when you can ride the surf across the lake, cutting and slashing the whole way

Trust me, I would LOVE LOVE to pick this up from you. The price is great. There are just too many financial hurdles to overcome.
An ncdubs boat day would be sweet. I'm guessing next year though. As the number of riding days are getting pretty limited. Certainly, anyone in Charlotte is welcome to come riding with me anytime.
What 09 did you order? Did you get the new digital dash from Malibu?

Im still working with the dealer. if all goes as planned ill be getting an 09 VLX with malivue and the hammerhead engine as the big options. Then all the tower speakers, amps, lights and other bs. Hopeully everything works out. Its either that or an 08 x-star.
