I went there today and i was going to get a 5 hour free revo software trial upgrade. After 5 hours then it returns to stock. They wouldn't let us in the shop and said it would take 30 minutes. They came out saying we had a missfire reading, so they didn't want to do it. They asked us if they wanted us to put a machine on to figure whats making it missfire for ONLY 87$. I went to my granddads house and he ran a machine onto my car and no codes came back. Is there a different machine that would pick up that ours is not? My friends tell me they mess with people. Does anyone know if these people are trustworthy?

Vagcom picks up codes that a general obd2 scanner wont, so its very likely they did get a code that the other scanner wouldnt. If you are getting misfire codes, its probably time to do plugs. Most shops doing flashes on cars do an overall check of the car including checking codes. I'm not sure what

we bought all new autolite plugs.
he wants us to upgrade to ngk's.
saying that might fix the problem.

Autolite plugs arent the best...but any plug thats not gapped correctly can spoil the fun.

I've used them for years to work on my Audi's and VW's.. can't say much about their performance stuff because mine has all been maintenance, but I have seen their race cars and they seem up to par. I don't think they would make up a code reading just to get some money out of you. Just my $.02

i think you are being overskeptical, and yes autolite plugs are crappy. it doesn't seem to me like they are doing anything wrong, might be time to take a :gt-bb-chongin:. the $87 is probably to run the VAG scanner like they have at the dealership and most likely not vag-com. they will charge you the same at the dealership. if someone in the area has vag-com then that can save you some money.

i've heard of them screwing up some stuff but it seemed like more complicated things. a chip and a simple plug recommendation doesn't seem that hard and could probably be handled even by someone with limited skill in the field.

if you are getting revo, the recommended / most widely used plug is the ngk bkr7e-ix.

quite pricey and a little elitist. But they know their germans. But thet happens any where in usa. we just had tranny motor mts tranny mts and shift linkage done there. 2900$ and we still dont feel like they are our friend. but a new tranny is sure nice. But so is a 200$ 96 jetta.

They are good guys. I worked there for a few years. 87$ may seem a little steep for a scan but they have the same equipment as the dealer and you do not want to see the receipt for how much that little gem cost
