So here's my story.
I got my exhaust done there and window trim painted there. The exhaust came out nice, but it was too low. They charged me 450 bucks as well and it was all my parts except for maybe 12 feet of pipe and a couple of hangers. I told another mechanic as well about the price and he cringed.I did the exhaust myself on my Bimmer in 2 hours, so i guess thats 225 an hour. I should open up shop!
I had mentioned something about it to Kenny the guy who did it and he told me to bring it back when I got back from Florida. So getting to the point I bring the car back today to get some paint work and the exhaust finished, and the guy (Kenny) wants to charge me 80 bucks to fix his mess. His excuse was I should have mentioned it when i picked it up(it was raining when I picked up the car btw). I picked up the car at night and didnt notice it until I was down in Florida and and someone pointed it out to me. So I have to pay more for him to fix his piss poor work. F-that!
I also got my window trim painted black there. I have had to bring it back 3 times because its been flaking off everywhere.Everytime I got my car back I have had to get paint thinner to get the over spray off the window. So this time I get it back and theres a huge line of like 3 scratches that look like sand paper(the guy was using sandpaper) on the door below the trim:mad:. Im fucking pissed. I got the " you should have inspected that car" Again it was downpouring when I picked it up, why wouldnt you just keep it in the garage so i can inspect it properly?
So now I'm out about 5-600 bucks to get my door painted. I wish some of the quality shops we have in the Triangle area could expand down here for us Euro guys, now I know why I travel 150 miles to get my car fixed

I just saw a guy on here today with majestic in his sig.
I have been looking at taking my tuning to the east and west of the state but not a whole shop. I would just end up in some strip club all day anyway.

..shame on you for giving them toooo many chances. the threat of small claims court might recoup some of the money you spent on the paint.
Takes some mighty big balls to charge someone for fixing their mistake.

I thought about it, but I leave for Florida on the 24th and it would cost me more to keep coming up for court dates. I thought about posting on ImportsNC because they're a sponsor there, but Im not a member

Yeah thats me and the only reason i have them there is because they did my exsause. IDk if they have change sence i got it which was about 8 months ago but i got it streight piped from the cats back and it was about 180 with the tip. so far so good looked at it last week while i was under the car and everything has held up. Their welding skills (or the one guy that did mine) was spot on. IDK man i guess they have gone downhill with this economic slump we are in, sorry to hear that. When my car got in an accident i took it to clintons body shop next to national vw and they made it back to perfect and their paint matching is amazing. Just to give that out there.

i would and will fully recomend them because if anything is wrong with your dub they acctually go down to the dealership and ask (i mean you can see the dealership from their driveway. But their painting skills are amazing and they practically painted my whole car in 24 hours

So basically your saying they didnt know how to work on your car? Are you talking about Majestic or Clinton? If Clinton, then yes they're skills are awesome. Majestic couldnt paint a fence if they had to

1. You brought the car to us for an exhaust and ask a price prior to any work being done, so obviously that wasn't an issue at the time.
2. You picked up the car after the work was done and signed the receipt that clearly states”that I have inspected the vehicle”. While on the lift and ground you found the work on the vehicle to be satisfactory. Check your receipt if you don't recall. As we have a copy and you signed ours.
3. You waited almost two weeks to bring the car back to address that you wanted us to cut your bumper more in order for the mufflers to tuck. This would have been a discussion at the time of pick up if you weren't happy with the install.
4. My conversation with you also includes a discussion about the mufflers you purchased. You and I talked for a while and you were ok with everything, but now you get on the internet and feel the need to say something completely different because we weren't willing to make a cosmetic change that you could have addressed the day of pick up.
5. The molding work that you ask to paint didn't seem to be a problem (no charge), again you inspected vehicle. Keep in mind we were fixing some work you attempted to do on the car yourself.
6. As for the customers car (orange Integra), who are you to judge other peoples rides? We deal with domestics, imports, euros, etc.
I know in any business you can't please every customer, but with the volume of business we are doing and the apparent quality of work we turn out, if our main complaint is about your mufflers being to low, I am pleased.
I apologize that you feel this way, but the need to come on a forum that you have no personal interest in only to make a thread for the sake of trying to "ruffle some feathers" befuddles me. I know that every time you have picked your car up, there wasn't a complaint. Matter of fact when we did the exhaust the technician said you were very pleased when you left.
Everyone here takes pride in their work and we make sure we do the best job possible. In this case, your complaint is mainly about cosmetics and we both know that should have been addressed prior to leaving.

i love it when people from shops get on the forum and try to cover there ass.....its so funny that people cant even have an opinion about where they take there car.....this is america if i say u suck u just have to deal with it. my buisness is ran by word of mouth and thats why where i work is always busy! quality and respect i dont have to get on someone elses forum and ever explain myself!

well you have no personal interest here since there isnt a vw audi or porsche owned by anyone in that entire shop and your on this forum. Listen I thought we settled this matter on the phone. I will leave it with this and it makes alot of sense since this person works at National Speed and they're a complete third party that has dealt business with both you and me
lol
For all this commotion why not let him come back, take 2 seconds to make adjustments to a couple hangers, and bam problem solved. VS. going on the defensive explaining that "you signed for the work." Sure legally your covered and technically not responsible. But damn, in a industry that is based upon custom work a little leeway with the customer should be expected?
AND ITS THIS ATTITUDE THAT MAKES ME A REPEAT CUSTOMER.
hell I have Evan do a lot of work on my car that I could do myself. But because places like National Speed and Absolute Auto have this attitude that is very customer friendly that I dont mind giving them the extra business. This market depends alot on networking and word of mouth. I know 80 bucks is not alot to your shop and its not alot to me. It was just the principle. Hell if you said okay, I would have brought the car back this week to get my coilovers counterweighted and you would have a couple hundred extra bucks right there. I think its funny though how the reactions were complete polar opposites on Importsnc.com and Ncdubs.org.. I guess its the difference of crowd scene...DUBS FTW!
Its all in the past at this point. Some of my words were too harsh and I take em back, but I think theres things both sides could of done differently:noproblem:

hahaha im not tellin you to take it there and have them install a 50 trim, im just sayin its a pretty cheap dyno pull and for anyone that doesnt have anything to do they are welcome to come out. im simply going out there with a buddy, im pretty sure they dont even have an awd dyno.
that does suck they ripped you off, but it is within 30 miles of jacksonville, therefore you can always expect a certain amount of unnecessary inflation on prices, considering the i.q drops drastically in these city limits.
