So i thought i would share this with you guys .. before i hit the deer with my cabby . the inner lights where yellow well i was unable to find a good deal on the yellow lense while my car was being repaired . I have always liked the inner lights yellow so i thought theres gotta be someway well after talking to a few guys someone sug. painting them using stained glass paint so i thought i would give it a try . so i took pictures during the process they turned out great.. so here is a little how to if anyone want to try it ... .... FIRST off remove your lights from the grille dont even think about trying to paint them in the grille ..http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/picture.php?pictureid=1744&albumid=190&dl=1240277423&thumb=1 (http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/album.php?albumid=190&pictureid=1744)http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/picture.php?pictureid=1745&albumid=190&dl=1240277423&thumb=1 (http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/album.php?albumid=190&pictureid=1745)

next up take your lights and get some rubbing alc. soap and some glass cleaner .. take your light over to a sink we are gonna wash out the inside of the light while it is out to clean the inside glass and the chrome reflector take and spray some glass cleaner insiade the light turn on the hot water and let it get really hot while your waiting on the water to get hot shake the hell outta the light to get the cleaner moving around . once the water is hot rinse out the light four or five time .. if you have a air compressor blow out all the water and moisture if you dont i guess you could use canned air but it may take a couple cans to really get it dry ... once you have that done take your soap and hot water and clean the outside of the lense really good and rense it once dry take some rubbing alc. and wip it down good we will be painting the outside .. after using the rubbing alc. try not to touch the lense .. http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/picture.php?albumid=190&pictureid=1746 (http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/picture.php?albumid=190&pictureid=1746)...Next get yourself some painters tape it really doesnt matter it its blue or not we are just gonna tape out the brakets and the back bucket the paint is transl. so its not gonna show on metal but it keeps things clean ... Ok once you have your light taped out go ahead and wipe down the lense with rubbing alc. once more this is very important you must do this for the paint to stick correctly.. NO OILY FILM ON THE GLASS!!!!.. Ok once you have it wiped down for the last time lay your light on some plastic or brown paper as i did so your not painting the sufface its sitting on ... http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/picture.php?pictureid=1748&albumid=190&dl=1240277423&thumb=1 (http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/album.php?albumid=190&pictureid=1748) next

Ok next lets look at the paint we are gonna use .. http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/picture.php?pictureid=1751&albumid=190&dl=1240277471&thumb=1 (http://www.forums.ncdubs.org/album.php?albumid=190&pictureid=1751) the paint i used is by kyrlon it is called stained glass paint i bought it at micheals arts and crafts it runs about 10 bucks a can dont worry about the color of the cap as it is almost orange but trust it comes out yellow . just make sure when you buy it that the can states it is yellow .. the can states it can be even used on glass for oil lamps so i would assume that the paint holds up good even with heat ... Ok lets get painting . Take your can and shake that sucker for about 2 minutes once done shaking your ready to paint but be very light with your first coat and dont worry the paint will look kinda foggy before it dries let the first coat dry for about 10 minute to let it get tacky a good way to tell is wait unitl it clears up then shoot another very thin coat on and repeat till it clears i used about 3 coats on the first lense and about 4 on the othere to get them matched .. once they are both painted let them dry over night before putting them back into the grille as the can states 30 min to touch 3 hours to dry but over night would be best .. well that where i have gotten they are drying and i will install them tomorrow until then here are some finished product photos..

The main thing here is to keep the lense clean very clean and the results well also vary depending how old you lights are the newer the lights the better they will look because of the glass being newer and the chrome on the inside being brighter.. well that it so far i will install them in the am and post up pictures of it all together .. so.. thats it it cost me about 15 bucks to do this paint rubbing alc. soap and tape but if ya have everthing but the paint your good to go for about 11 bucks .. Oyeah if ya want to see the pic,s bigger just click on them and it will bring them up bigger on a sep. page the pic with the yellow light with the paint can beside it really shows off how good these came out if ya click on it ...
