Dub Quattro

So I have a couple questions about modding my 02 TT quattro and am hoping for some help. first I wanna put a set of wheels on (stock 6 spokes are pretty ugly) I have a basic idea of what i want but am thinking about backspacing the rear wheels, wanna run 265/40/18's...or wider and 245/40/18's on the front. and second is there an advantage/disadvantage to running the same size sway bars (25mm) on both front and rear oppose to larger in front than rear?

you wanna run the same size f+b since you have quattro. you don't wanna mess up your haldex. as far as the same size sway bars you'll hurt ur handling not help. if you have stock swat bars just get a 19mm for the back if you really want to get a stiffy then get a 25mm in the front and a 21mm in the back.

Have also 02' TT Q

ARB have 25 in front and 22 in rear .... would not stagger wheels personally I do know a lot of UK guys that do though just try to get the revs as close as possible as each manufacture is different....

I have 245/35/18 TOYO's on my 18 X 8.5 rims

If anyone else needs info from this thread, you CAN stagger wheels on haldex equipped cars.. As long as the rolling diameter of the tires are within an 1/2 inch of each other you'll be ok. Wheel width does not matter

For instance:
215/40/18F (24.77") and 245/35/18R (24.75")
225/40/18F (25.09") and 255/35/18R (25.02")

I don't have quattro, but having extremely mis-matched tires also throws off VW/Audis various traction control systems, like I had 215/35/18F and 225/40/18 rear on my MK4 jetta and that made the ASR light up. I have 215/35/18F and 235/35/18R on my 20th with no issues.

just be careful on the tires as each manufacture have different rotations keep it as close as it can get.

if your looking at stance get adjustable coil overs as 18's on a TT look good in front but rear needs dropped even with racing springs

just saying each tire brand has different revs
to other things my fender wells could fit Kumho's but not Pirelli's even though being the same tire 225/45/18

Gotcha... Still for the actual system monitoring, it's a minute detail.
