Breaksters and Gaymans.

The 986 being the 944 of the future. Except not a decent car.

:)

I was waiting to hear some validity in Mr. Wolf Walkers statement.

The Cayman is one of the best well balanced Porsches on the road right now with the mid-engine. Amazing track car. Have yet to have any serious mechanical issues with it. Nothing gay there.

I thought this section needed some action, that usually works. :)

I'm around Porsche junk all day. Nobody thinks much of the new cars, other than they drive nice and look cool(which is subjective).

We love 986/996 stuff, it breaks often and is easy to sell. Unfortunately you have to sell twice as much
since it's all priced like(is) new jetta parts now.

964's are my 2nd favorite, especially C4's. Everything on them is insanely expensive new, breaks moderately often,
and nobody seems to be able to work on them correctly. It's the 928 of the future.

In all fairness, Caymans are, in my worthless opinion, much better looking overall than the other current cars.
Maybe the newer one's will be able to go more than 60K between engine swaps.
Actually wait I need to sell them, so I take that back.

We've had a few truckfulls of 997 parts and a smattering of Cayenne stuff, no whole wrecks yet.
Not looking forward to it, the more options and variations they add(which is a very annoyingly UN-Porsche
thing to do) the more a PITA it is.

Heard those things are pieces. 2005's (Masarati's Q's) resell for 30k at the auction.

Don't know a lot about em, guy I work with has one, think it's been in the shop more than it's been home if that says much.
Sounds neat with the F motor and all, it's quick for big as it is. It's a fucking car show everywhere you go in it if you get off on that sort of thing. Meh. The parts are pretty. :) And expensive.
Depreciation does seem to be hellish.

I hate that you have to drop the drivetrain, every time you want to do anything to the engine

otherwise I would love to have one,one of the best handling cars ever

and pretty cheap used, but I would hate to see service bills since I dont have a lift

yeah, in -car work is limited unless you just want to go insane and break stuff. Once you make up your mind to just drop it out most stuff is easy. It's a Porsche thing though, they are pretty much all that way.

The depreciation is a killer on the new stuff. I don't know what's going to happen to all these 986's that are slipping under the 10K mark rapidly. It's a hard sell for 3 or 4 grand for an engine as it is. I see a lot of Genuine Porsche recycled Beer Cans in the future.

Track shop car mule project thing. It looks like a turtle the flares are so wide now.
It went into a wall at VIR awhile back. They do that. 993 c2

Here is a lesson and a sad sight we just got in today. Car has been in storage for something like 8 years, just like it sits.
The owner, a lady, lent it to her 17 year old nephew or something like that and him and a friend promptly flipped
it at 100+. Both dead, badly, owner in therapy for a really stupid decision.
On an up side, Porsche I guess got tired of seeing this and put a roll bar in the cabrios. (eventually)
And reinforced the windscreen frame more.
Next to nothing good on it sadly. Actually the leather dash was, amazingly. That's money there.

The money shot, seat bent backwards, top frame and all is MIA. Hard lessons.
