I've heard good things about the Turtle Wax kit. Thinking of picking some up myself to do my headlights this weekend.

Nothing I've done has satisfied me. Sure it has helped but not the point I really wanted

Ugh. I wish they made glass lenses for the New Beetle :( I would definitely shell out the cash for them.

I SAND THE UV COATING COMPLETELY OFF, 600-->1500 THEN BUFF WITH 3M PERFECT IT compound.

finish with good ol fashioned wax.

if you dont sand the lens down to a fresh layer of plastic ,, all you are doing is putting a miricle potion over them that will wash away.

Was about to post this in the Mk4 forums:

Dunno if you drive a mk4, but if you do, sweet deal on glass lenses. I'm probably going to pick up a set.

VDUBNLUVN has the way to go. You must use progressive sanding to get to fresh plastic. Then any of the kits will work fine, I've used several of them on different cars... be sure to tape around the the paint if you're keeping them in the car.

On the DL (don't want the forum popo after me) I have a compound that will take scratches out of glass...

I just bought glasses lenses for my headlights.

Love them. Crystal clear from any angle, as before the headlights were cloudy in some areas.

I tried the hand sanding and polishing method, but didn't get the results I wanted. Picked up a 3M drill sand and polish kit from the auto store for $17 and haven't looked back.
