I'm about to go get some bkr7e's. Any tricky stuff I should watch out for on the install? Seems fairly straightforward, I just need to see if I can borrow a gapper from advance auto. :dunceblock:

dude for some reason my car didn't agree with em. Let me know how it runs when you get them in. Gapped at .028

can i do mine with ya? Fri. night maybe? I want to see whats up with my gapping/ plugs in general... do you have the coin-type gapping tool?

Always thread the new plugs by hand before you take a wrench to them. Especially with an aluminum head.

I have the little feeler type things of different widths. My bro just moved to NC from Cali this week, so I might be with the fam, but if not i'd def be down for a plug party.

i use the coin tool and anti-seize on the threads everytime i change mine...just thought id put that out there

i may pick one of those coin tools up... i originally gapped it with one of those but the feeler guage was a good bit smaller

With colder weather should it be gapped larger or smaller, if any changes are made in the gap size?

the only thing i may change hot > cold weather would be the heat range

colder air means colder combustion/engine temps may mean a hotter plug is needed

gap is more affected by boost/power of spark

i ran the 7e's all year round..cold starts in the winter + 7e's + sec air + me = ...once the sec air turned off it was fine

so, in theory, what would happen if I was running 22 lbs of boost and the 7e's were gapped too small? Or are there too many factors to be able to tell?

too small of a gap will cause too weak of a spark...if it was way too small i just dont see it firing well in general

too large of a gap can cause blowout

I bet mine was too gapped a bit too small... hence the bad firing only under high load

Sorry bout not gettin back to you Helke, I just did the weirdest roadtrip ever, and didn't have internet access. Blacksburg to DC, back to Blacksburg, then to Raleigh, then to High Point. I think I just drove like 1000 miles....ehhhhhhhh. Its 4:30am so I'm gonna get some sleep.
