since the T3super60 is on its way and i am getting all what is needed ready. I've been reading alot about people , spiking or over boosting , while still using the N75 valve. So i am leaning toward getting an MBC , whhat do you guys recommend? the boost machine Maybe ? what you gys have in mind ?

most any mbc will work ok...i just have a cheap ebay one
make sure to get something that is a "ball and spring" design
forge makes one or there are several other name brand ones out there, hallman is a good one to look for

I can get you this one.

But I'd also research a profec b iirc.....

profec is the way I'll be going soon after my re-install. The forge one is the nicest of the mbc but you still have to readjust your driving skills since the t3s60 spools pretty quick.

i've read almost all night or at least researched about the Profec 2B. It is a nice system but a little too expensive i would say. I see some advantages that it has over manual Boost controlers but nothing tooo big. BUt after all it is always getting what is best. I will see how it goes .

profec b's are really nice..i had one for a little while
see if you can find a used one on ebay..its prob still going to be $200 or so, more than double the cost of an expensive mbc

FWIW I can make you a Boostmachine for $100 (I've got some extra parts leftover from the last time).

I've been using one for what seems like years. IIRC Atlantonius is still using one. I really need to make Yareka a new one now that he's gone BT (and I owe him anyway).
Here's my infamous last dyno:

Revo 3bar
2.5"Downpipe
3"Catback
23(ish) PSI
No MAF
No Alcohol Injection
275 Flywheel HP
290 Flywheel TQ

how you get 275bhp w/ 232.3whp?

Add in 15% drivetrain loss.

June 7th, 2006, 09:17 AM
232.3 * 1.15 = 267.145

15% loss of 267 would be 227.
Try 232/0.85

still not 275

You're gonna argue over 2bhp :smack:

hehe...I love arguements over theory.
Abe, you are going to have to run some type of ebc/mbc on your setup since revo 3 is not compatible w/ your n75. The boost machine may be your best bet since since you dont wanna splurge on the ebc. If you've ever driven a car with an mbc, it can be quite finnicky w/ the throttle. Any more than 25% throttle when your turbo should be boosting and you will hit whatever the mbc is requested for. So you get a huge spike all of a sudden and then it shoots back when you back off the throttle. It takes some learning but I"m quite used to it now(I'm using the forge valve above.)
The boost machine will allow you to dial out that quirkiness with the relief valve. The relief valve allows you to slow the pulse going to the adjustment knob, giving you part throttle but slowing the response time. This is how the n75s work but they are electronic. Hope that makes sense

I'll throw another item in arguement and that is that 3rd gear pulls as we did seem to actually be about spot on with crank numbers on mk4s. Maybe 5% off but no more from what I've seen. I have dynoed stock 2000 mk4 at 151. And 180hp 2003s at 180. When we do 4th gear the 10-20% argument really can begin. Ian is at a disadvantage cause his wheel hp will be lower for the same crank hp. Atleast a 1.25 correction if not 1.28. A stock S4(250 crank hp) makes 195-200 whp in 4th gear. Just some more fuel to the fire of the debate:hiya:

the BT kit should be in at door anytime now... Till then i should have decided what to get... i am leaning toward an eletronic one since i can doo all the adjustments from the car (lazy) and after all sooner or later i am going to be wanting one.. we'll see thanks Yereka for the INFO very helpful.. The only problem with the EBC is the price nothing more.. :)

and on the mustang dyno people tend to see less power then others.
