I have to get inspected in July. I don't think it'll be a huge prob cause I have a friend that can hook me up, but if that doesn't work out, will having a Revo Stage II allow me to pass inspection w/o a cat? If I recall you can't be throwing any codes if you want to pass, but the Revo Stage II should take care of the code. I'm 99% sure I can pass w/ stage II, since I don't think OBD II cars have to have a sniffer or anything, but I just wanted to double check and see if any of you had heard/had experience otherwise.

The software will cause the code for the rear 02 to not appear. The same code also appears on aftermarket downpipes with high flow cats. Software helps both occurances.

who is your friend that can "hook you up", if you don't mind me asking?

I need to find some way to pass inspection in August, so if he could take care of me too that'd be awesome...

PM if you'd rather keep it private.

I have a question on this topic also. I have a shop back in kernersville that will pass my car with my window tint. Even though I now live in cary, can I still get it inspected there? Or will I have to find a shop here locally that will do it?

Brian, you can have the car inspected in Kernersville as long as they do the OBD2 inspections in that county.

sweetness... yes they do. last winter when i pulled my car up front, they told me as soon as they saw it 'it wont pass because of the tint' I said 'shit' they said '60 bucks'
paid them and the guy pulled his pickup truck up to the tester, plugged it in and tested his truck inplace of mine, put the sticker in my window and I drove off. LOL

this is exactly why SC stopped doing inspections about 10 years back. Every garage owner started making profits by saying "Uh..pay me and I'll pass you but you had this done after the inspection, right? Inspections ceased and every hunk o crap that hadnt been on the road in forever all of a sudden showed up in the streets. Guess they figured they could make more revenue in the court system and have a betta chance of catching dui's by pulling everyone over for restrictions.

inspections are now getting slacker since the state has gone to auditors instead of using the enforcement officers to check up in the stations. It will all change again soon i'm sure.
