Yes, the "5" door is due in dealers July/August. I couldn't wait for one otherwise, I probably would have bought one of those. It's about 65lbs heavier, everything else is identical. I did hear the 07's would not have the headlight washers and a few other little things.

I am aware of the "5" door rabbit which has the 2.5L 5 Cylinder. Is that the one you are talking about? Or are you talking about a 2.0T FSI model?

There will be a 5 door GTI. Have you been to www.golfmk5.com/forums ? You'll find everything you need to know there. The word is it will be here in July/August, but since I had no proof, I bought a two door. My kids get in and out on their own and it does have cool seat releases beside the headrests.
