I play a lot when the weather permits... Usually at the course in Chapel Hill since I live about a mile away. I'd like to check out some of the other local courses, so post up if you go!

Played five years ago...still got my driver and putter somewhere.
But I'm sure it would be downright embarrassing the first few times out.

The best course to play on is one out in Chapell Hill. Pretty big course. Ceder Hills is also good here locally.
I am down for Saturday, have a few friends in the office who would be down also.

I used to play Kaplan a lot when I was in college. I shot a 12 under par round there (counting every hole as a par 3), my best round by far. I birdied every hole on that back nine. Haven't played much in the past two years, but I'd be down for going out on a Sunday or something...

10am ? i don't care where
pinky

10 works.
* kaplan - short, easy course that could potentially be really busy if it is nice
* cedar hills - usually pretty empty, plays long, hard to make par. north raleigh
* valley springs - nice course, shorter than cedar hills, excellent course
* chapel hill (unc) - varied open & wooded, usually not too busy
* cornwallis - pretty short, but there are some tricky holes
* buckhorn (harris lake) - good course, lots of water holes (which i dont care too much for). could be muddy since it rained yesterday
i dont really care, i havent played in a while so it would be nice to go to any of them.

actually, 10 would be ok for something in raleigh, but if we're going to unc or durham (valley springs, cornwallis), i would like 11 better

sounds good
do you know how to get there (course in chapel hill)?
also, it's still kinda early, but if you're allergic to poison ivy, be careful out at that course.. its not bad unless you accidentally throw it deep in the woods

once of the guys at work has played there before and knows how to get there.
pinky
March 30th, 2007, 03:23 PM

bttt.
i've gone out the past couple sundays (except last sunday b/c the park party)
i plan on going out again this sunday, if anyone is interested. i have enough spares for 1 or 2 people if you dont have discs.
i'm down for any course in the triangle
- kentwood (ncsu, kaplan dr) - short, good for beginners
- cedar hills (near six forks/millbrook) - longer and more difficult
- valley springs (north durham) - hands down, one of the best in the area. similar to cedar hills.
- cornwallis (near 40 & 15-501) - short but technical
- unc (obvious) - a lot of it is very open, built on an old golf course
- zebulon - not a bad course. a little out of the way, but it's always made for a nice round
- buckhorn (sharon harris) - trees and lakes
early afternoon.. 2pm or so..
everyone is welcome. except stan.

If I'm still in town at that time I'd be down to go... Been a good while since I've played...
Either way I'm gonna go this weekend thanks for the reminder
If we're playing at harris lake though I'm not playing the 200 yard water hole...

Ok I'm in... Need to head back out to Boone at 5pm so I can squeeze a round in... Don't really care where although I'd prefer not driving an hour to north durham...
