Found a great source from the tex on spark plugs.

I've never heard of reading into timing issues by the change in color along the grounding strap...I definitely have an issue there. The only arguement here is that in order to get a perfect reading on a plug you should do a wot run and turn the car off....which wouldnt be too healthy for most of us:o
