Quick newb question about boost gauge install. I bought hte 42 dd A pillar VDO boost gauge. I"m pretty good as far as running the hose, mounting the pod.
My question is with the LED. I got two LED's from the company. When i pull the dimmer switch to splice is there going to be an obvious place that i plug the LED's in? Sorry about the stupid question but i'm new with electrical and LED's.

Read that several times and still doesnt answer my question. There are no good DIY's about wiring and the LED's. And that guy was installing a gauge that used bulb's.:gt-bb-chongin:

I'm pretty sure I wired my LED power wire from the middle wire going to the dash dimmer... and my ground wire to a random bolt touching metal that was inside the dash
if you pop out the light switch, you should be able to push from behind the dimmer to pop out the dimmer.. then slice up your LED power wire to the middle wire
just a little piece of advice, those quick-tap square looking things are your best friend with this job :upyeah:
hope this was of some help!

yeah man, i have a ton of them. best thing ever.
i used an blue led with mine from newsouthperformances and i just followed that diy. it wasn't that hard. tap into the dimmer switch. the led has two wires. either wire can be postive or negative. still going strong after 1 year of uses.

no
vacuum while idle should read ~19-21
driving vacuum/boost is totally dependent on your right foot

I'm thinking the hose has a leak in it. The braided part of the fpr hose was pretty much crumbling in my hands. Like dry rotted or something. Could a leak in the fpr hose give me those readings?

possible

Time to buy about 6ft of vacuum hose and go to town. With your mileage, all the braided hoses coming off the mani need to be replaced.

Actually, the power wire is the blue/gray wire on the outside. the ground is the all brown wire on the other side. Not sure what the middle wire is for. If you hooked up to the middle wire, can you still dim the gauge with the rest of the lights? Mine dims with everything else.

if it already dims with everything else then leave it alone
the other wire will only make it full bright all the time
