I'm looking into getting some black racing rims for my '06 GTI but I'm not sure where to look exactly. I don't want chrome or anything else though, just black or I'll keep my stock ones on if I can't find decent looking black ones that I like. Does anyone know of any good websites or recommendations to possibly go with. I looked at some enkei EN420 RZ-5 today and they looked alright. ANy help would be appreciated...thanks, Jason

you can always find something you like racing wise then have them painted or powder coated

I'm no pro, but here is my $.02:
If you want racing wheels, go small and go light. Nothing bigger than 16s, and nothing weighing more than 20lbs. max. Get that rotating weight down as much as possible. This is assuming that you are keeping your current wheels and getting these as a track set...
Sorry, websites are edgeracing.com and tirerack.com

I think he was going more for the "racing style" wheels instead of wheels specifically for racing/track days etc.

www.edgeracing.com has some simple 5 spoke wheels that are 17's that weight about 18lbs each for $95 each. Otherwise, check www.tirerack.com but most are more expensive. I think the BBS CH's look best, but they are 18's and are $500 each. It's a 5x112 pattern with a minimum offset of around 42 or so.

Yeah I'm looking for racing style rims more for show, not really cause I wanna take it to the track and all. I perferablly want to keep my factory tires so I wanna replace the rims I have now which are 18's. I know smaller rims would make my car quicker but I don't have 1500-2000 bucks to blow on some new rims and tires, thats why I just want new rims so I can keep the same tires. I'm not cheap by no means but my car isn't my top priority these days as my other bills and shit so I'm not gonna spend an arm and a leg on it but I do want it to look nice. I guess my limit for rims would be around $1000 a most.

If you just need a set of rims check out tunershop.com Might be a little more bling than you are looking for. Also you could check out wheelexchange.com. they are a local warehouse and have a pretty good selection. If you find a style you like but it doesn't come in black there is a local powdercoat shop that will charge about 60$ a wheel to powdercoat it black.

Problem is finding a 5 x 112 with a 42-50 offset. There are very few choices, tirerack has the most, but I think most of them look dumb.
