When I step on the gas, particularly in lower gears, the engine hesitates and then takes off.
If the DV is not the problem, then what could it be? This is a pampered GTI with only 8400 miles since Jan 06.
I'm feeling like I'm in the '80s with mucho turbo lag!!

Does it hesitate in 4th-6th gears as well or just the lower gears? When it hesitates does it feel any weaker as far as performance wise or it just takes longer to kick in but the power feels normal? Is your software flashed or is it completely stock?

It seems likes its mostly in the lower gears or at least more apparent.
It just takes longer to kick in and then the power seems ok.
I had a REVO demo flash awhile back.
Thanks

owning a mk5 is the number one symptom. log requested verses actual boost.

block 115 logs would point out the dv being failed or not, the car might bejust nee a throttle body alignment

If you pop a DV you will spike at around 5psi and hold 1-2 at most. If your studdering then boosting fine but a pound or two short of normal boost level for your car you might check the PCV. Other than that it may just need a throttle body adaption, or some mileage. Not driving it has made your fast angry.
