I've seen this on EIP and elswhere. Is the crank in these kits just an OEM 2.0L crank using low compression pistons? In that case, why not bypass EIP crap and find an OEM 2.0L crank, and then match your own pistons and rods per application.

you can use a 1.8t block w/ an aeg crank or if its an older 1.8t you have to use an aba crank

youll need rods and custom pistons

there are lots of threads on vortex about this

That's what I thought. I have 2 long running competing stupid ideas: 1. Make my car a 2.0L stroker 2. Find a donor 2.7T and go to work like Dr. Frankenstein on putting that biotch under the hood.

a 2.0l isnt that crazy of an idea..more and more of them are showing up..not as uncommon as it used to be

good luck trying to fit a 2.7t in a transverse car...no way youd get that thing plumbed

It's only a silly dream anyway. It'd be soooooooooo much cheaper to just buy an S4. I just think it would be cool to have a Jetta with 500hp and 4WD. Oh, trust me, I'd MAKE it fit. If people can fit a Chevy V8 in a Civic CRX, then a 2.7T in a Jetta should go. I'd have to reroute exhaust tunneling, driveshaft, probably cut and weld the firewall deeper into the dash area.

This would be such an incredibly stupid undertaking, with outstandingly cool results. Somebody needs to get me out of this line of thinking!!!!!

PS: Used to have the dumb idea of custom mating 2 twin rotors together in an RX-7.

I have always wanted to see a 2.7T in a Coupe Quattro... Someone managed to cram a 4.2 V8 into one!

I'm sure the 2.7t could be crammed into a coupe quattro. Lot of room in that bay compared the mkiv.

The 2.7t is a hoss of a engine...It allready has enough of a heat issue in the b5 chassis, in a mkiv you'd be asking for a nighmare. Let alone working on the 2.7t in the b5 requires you to pull the engine to do almost anything.

You could however find a driveline out of a mkiv awd or TT AWD and swap that into your existing setup, with alot less fab work than the 2.7t would require.

why put a 2.7 in when they already come with a 2.8? I love my 2.7t S4 more then any car I have ever driven but ony because of the whole package(huh huh I said package).
Back on topic STROKER! STROKER! STROKER! STROKER!:oddeye-hellyeah:

Yeah, she'll be strokin it all right :gt-ogb-spank:.

Didn't find anything much on the vortex on this one. Is the stroker only good for BMFTurbo apps or would it work on anything much bigger than a K04? Seems like a good upgrade if someone is gonna upgrade rods anyway. Might as well for the extra money while you're in there.

I think CDI stands for computerized direct injection? I'm almost 75% sure I'm wrong. It was in the vortex link above in reference to different rev limits due to a new rotating mass.

I talked to a guy on vortex connected with JRC motorsports near charlotte. apparently you need the AEG, the block bored to 82.5-83mm, aftermarket rods and custom pistons. After all that you probably need standalone because I dont' think there is a file for a 2.0L 20v motor. Basically TEXA$. Many people have done it on older audi's but with newer mk4 it seems impossible on a car that has obd2 inspection. It would make fun swap motor that was going standalone in a pre 96 shell.

Que es CDI?\
cdi=capacitive discharge ignition.
http://www.msdignition.com/1ignitions.htm
they make your spark plug shoot a freakin ball of fire instead of just one spark. I have yet to try one on a modern injection car but I have run them on older cars and boat motors and they are bad ass.

Yeah, I think the standalone would ruin the experience for me. To be ODBII compiant with standalone, don't you have to do a piggy back deal of some kind? I've heard of people successfully doing it, but it's a bigger PIA than it seems worth.

yes but "no replacement for displacement":gt-ogb-spank: If you do the HP per cc math on Ian's car. If he had that 2.1 liter he could make somewhere around another 60-65CHP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yea Ian I'm talkin to you now!

Dammit! Where the heck would I work on something like that? I don't have a garage. Nor will I next year.
