I suppose this question is directed at Kevin/ Travis/ anyone who knows the answer. I just realized there is no n75 bung on my eGay piping. Should I cut the bung off the old piping and weld it to the new one or what? What'd you do Kevin?

progress update: all the old smic stuff is off, i'm working on the rebar now....i believe i'm past the point of no return. The MAP flange I had JB welded up didn't work too well...I forgot to rough sand the bottom of the flange and so when I went to screw in the MAP it just came clean off the JB weld and left behind some really smooth looking JB. I grinded all the JB off, and then brushed the pipe back to its original state. I'm probably just gonna break down and go get it welded tomorrow...yes Ian I'm eating my humble pie, I shoulda just done it right the first time. :yum:

another: i think i'm throwing in the towel for the night considering its 4 am...I think everything is going to come together pretty well, I just need to figure out how I'm going to mount the core. I'm guessing I need to mount using the top and bottom of the core? Seems like it could move a lot if I didn't. Where/ how have you guys mounted yours in the past? Okay I'm going to bed, probably won't be on here till 11 or later.

ahh, the n75 tap. I got lucky because my 28r flange has a boost source right off the hotside of the turbo. You can order quicktap from atp...or you can grab a nipple in the home depot plumbing dept. Bad part about home depot is that you are going to have to drill another hole in the piping and practice your jbweld skills one more time. Another way is to use the bung thats already there going to the DV, you tee into that with step down fittings(also from home depot motorsports) until you get a vauum line sized fitting. Depending on how you do it, this could be a permanent fix...but I'd do that until you recieve the quicktap from atp, its much cleaner.

1.8tim on here has a quicktap on his homebrew fmic

Well my car is rather inoperable now, so I'm thinking I'm just gonna do as Kevin sugested and get some sweet home depot racing team parts...perhaps I'll order the quick tap and put it on later if just welding on a nipple doesn't work.

Jones Metal Works said it'd take over and hour and cost me $75 to get the MAP flange welded on, not happening...JB Weld re-dux!

That's insane pricing for a simple weld. Most shops should charge by the hour but that's kinda high.

You can use a quick tap for the n75, or you can pickup a cold side dv relocation kit and use the bung on your currenty piping to run to the n75.

damn dude $75....you must have asked for the weld and suckysucky combo.

Go to home depot so you can get your car running...then wait patiently for the quicktap.

Me = poor :yum: Last I checked the cold side kits were running around $155 which I can't do for now. I probably will be getting a quick tap online tonight though, and maybe it'll get here pretty quick.

On another note, it seems like I may be rolling to the get together tomorrow w/ a Volvo S40 T5 if my car is still being a bum. Perhaps I will attempt to lure some of you back to my house with offers of free beer and food haha.

Where/how did you guys mount your cores? I'm thinking I might do it on that plastic radiatior covering crap, since the core is pretty light I'm guessing it would work if I had 4 different spots distributing the weight...still not sure though.

Thanks btw to everyone for their help with this thus far, yall are great :oddeye-hellyeah:
