You can have a clean unshaved engine bay.... Just put a big turbo on there and SS intercooler piping and you will be stylin.

clean her up and smooth her out... you can add the engine and all the other goodies afterwards, they will still be there waiting for you ;)

Smoothed engine bays are overrated. Clean it up and get it on the road!

I dont think you can go wrong w/ either choice. it just depends on if you wannna devote the man hrs to do it, or if you "need" to get it on the road. ya kno?

To smooth it "right" you need to pull the motor so you can get to every nook and cranny, do you have that sort of time? I just ran the wiring through the frame rails and did some touch up paint to the bay and I was happy. Get it on the road and you'll forget about the engine bay.

Tom, don't listen to them. Be patient. I should have cleaned out my engine bay more the last time it was out but I was lazy. You're a painter/fabricator..... that car is one of the cleanest around.... take it a step further. You'll be glad you did and all of us will be jealous that you did too.

hell i cant decide. i guess while the engine is out it is the time,
but im leaning towards just a clean job rather than totally show smoothed. of coarse ill shave and fill whats not needed.
ill be yankin the motor back out soon to swap subframes, and swap tt bushings for the urethane ones. i got sidetraced on the install cause i believe my subframe to be tweaked. :oddeye-hellyeah:
i must finish this car soon, i have a 60 bug with a 215ci v8 thats needs some putting together.

wheelie monster? maybe, the original builder had 160 lbs of steel bolted to the front beam, it was either to hold the front end down or lower it. we will find out,
225 hp stock, bored , cam, msd, headers, 650 holley, eldebrock intake, should pump out 240.hp.
scat procar interior, 13x7 and 15x10 wheels, wide fenders, 4 wheel disc brakes.
been keeping this project hush hush for a while now.

Why texture black it?
look good, clean , and most of all durable, easy to touch up.
