The brakes on my GTi have finally bit the bullet. What all is needed to change over to a B3 Passat front setup? I know I need the rotors, calipers, and pads, but is there anything else? I have a B3 that is not running, so I'm "stealing " the front brakes. I have seen/been told that I need to swap the spindles and the proportioning valve, but I don't know. I want to get as much info as possible before I do this, so I kinda have an idea of what to expect. I also want to swap the master cylinder. Is there anything special I need to do? I know the ms on the B3 also feeds the hyd. clutch. Would this affect the swap, and is there anything I need to do to the ms to prevent leaks. Thanks for all the advice I'm sure I'll receive on this topic.

me and brandon swapped my master cylinder like a wk or 2 ago. no fuss what-so ever! just unscrew the 4 hard lines on the master cylinder (2 on ea side) un do the master cyl, then out w/ the old in w/ the new. its that easy. oh... emptying the brake fluid first is a good idea. you'll also have to remove the bottle on top the cyl.

If you still have the 9.4" on the front of your GTI, any upgrade swap begins with spindles, calipers, cariers, and 22mm master cylinder.

I'm not sure what is on the front of a B3 Passat specifically though.
