well i went to get a new gasket for the dp/cat connection today at napa. they didnt have one for a mk2 8v, but i had an "old" gutted cat in the car and the woman took it in the back and found an almost perfect match (pretty damn close, bolt holes are off by maybe a millimeter or two, center opening is pretty much spot on).
apparently it's a gasket for 50s-70s chevy/gmc cars/trucks with a 305/350...

THe MK2 one is a hard metal ring that fits into the cat, and into the dp and then squeezed together, not a gasket.

you can use the gasket, but it needs to be 100 % seal on the inner diameter and bi metal woven heavy duty, even then it still may blow out over time.
as mentioned the proper deal is a metal do-nut style gasket. they are about 6$ new through an import house or online.
